Mistoria Lettings, part of the Manchester based property investment company, the Mistoria Group, have launched their very own accommodation guide for first time students. The nine page document is a timely composition, with young people up and down the country now receiving A-level results and university places filled. In the coming days, attention will be turned to housing and the associated responsibilities, which for many will be a new and potentially daunting experience.
The ‘Guide to your First Student House’ report, which can be downloaded from the Mistoria Lettings website, offers information with regards to the requirements students should be seeking from their accommodation, such as a good location, space and value for money. In addition, there is clarity on more complicated matters such as landlord obligations, deposits and holding fees. A useful checklist for both moving in and moving out is also provided, with further information on keeping energy costs to a minimum.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer this guidance report to all students pursuing a student house for the first time.” said Senior Lettings Manager, Mike Howard. “Most first year students find themselves in student halls which are arranged by the university. But when it comes to the finding suitable accommodation for their second year, most young people are unsure of where to start and what factors to be watchful of. Hopefully, this guide will provide transparency on regulations and obligations, breaking down the ‘jargon’ that can cause the process to become unnecessarily complex.”
