UK’s North West property firm The Mistoria Group planning international expansion in Sri Lanka

Colombo born Mishantha (Mish) Liyanage, Chief Executive Officer of ‘The Mistoria Group’ whose HQ is in Manchester UK, is visiting the Sri Lankan capital to meet with potential business investors as he looks to grow his property portfolio over the next three years which could lead to a market listing of his company.

2019 marks the 10th anniversary of ‘The Mistoria Group’ which has developed into a fast-growing property business focusing on sales and letting management. Delivering 13% cash and 35% geared yield on property investments in the North West of England (the fastest growing regional economy in the UK) Mistoria offers a safe asset for potential investors.

‘The Mistoria Group’ turnover is now excess of £ 15 m delivering net profits of £ 330 k and has over 550 properties with an asset base of over £ 115 m. Employing over 20 staff it also has 50 contractors with a range of outsourcing partners overseas including Sri Lanka. With over 200 landlords/investors and 5 UK offices Mistoria have plans for international expansion including investing in the Sri Lankan real estate market.

Such is the success and growth of his business; Mish is now regularly appearing on national TV in the UK on a property program called ‘Homes under the Hammer’ and over the last few years Mistoria has become one of the largest providers of student accommodation in the North of England.

Mish now believes the time is right to expand The Mistoria Group which will be delivered by acquisitions, mergers or joint venture opportunities whilst the setting up and developing a number of International Offices including Sri Lanka are also part of the company’s future strategy.

Apart from his business success Mish and The Mistoria Group have maintained close charity links with Sri Lanka. The company supports a range of community projects on the island assisting the life-saving work of the Meththa Foundation alongside helping to tackle homelessness and working alongside the APSL Scholarship Scheme to help gifted children in Sri Lanka continue their education.

Colombo born Mishantha graduated from Colombo University, and also has an MBA from Postgraduate Institute of Management and is a Practising Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA).

Mish’s career started at Ernst and Young in Colombo and worked as a senior manager for Brandix Lanka before migrating to the UK in 2004.
